I met loads of old friends in august, all coming to london for a brief time. Most of the days in august where spent with friends training at some dodgy estate in London. Met some new friends and learnt how to talk like a sailor in many different languages. It was an awesome ride.
But now - its the end of September. I’m back in my own little world were if im not sleeping or eating im working on my training goals one little step at a time. and i wouldn’t have it any other way :D
Why?
If you walk through my neighborhood everyday from about 5-7 pm and listen carefully you will hear a strange noise. Covered up by the sounds of the traffic flowing in and out of the main road; the rain and people talking there is a strange beat echoing in the background.
A boy around 12 years old kicking a ball to a wall.
Its been going on for about a year now, almost everyday. It started out like a rough irregular sound but slowly it started to turn into a beat.
1,2,3,4,5,6 *BAM* 1,2,3,4,5,6 *BAM*
When it rains it takes slightly longer between each knock but its still consistent, and it goes on for about 20 minutes none-stop, pauses for 5-10 and then carries on.And every single time it puts a slight little smile on my face. At first i wondered why but thats a stupid question that i already know the answer to.
Its the same reason that has me repeating the same jump over and over for hours on end. The same reason that makes me stare at a thin wet rail 8 feet away. The same reason i spend hours trying to figure out a difficult boulder problem.
Its simple really. I love it.
